you read this post right now, but who is you?

you think of some label given to you when you have been put into the material world, of the number of years you have existed in it, the roles you play, confusing them for your self and clinging to them.

people play friends, husbands, wives, colleagues, businessmen, bankers, policemen, students, athletes, parents.

Just like Ben:

Hi, Im Ben, im 20 years old, im a student, i like eating pizza and playing football with my friends, i go out drinking on weekends.

thats who he believes he is.

he is describing the role he is playing.

You may have another script but the role remains.

the ones who have played for too long cant be freed. their mind isn’t able to comprehend.

people confuse the role with the self, misunderstanding what identity is.

they bind themselves to a role and exist inside the limits of it.

people are conditioned to categorize, to pin everything down in roles and definitions.

there is a tribe called Himba in northern Namibia.

their language has the same name for blue and green, they have conditioned themselves to believe that its the same color over time and even though its different, when shown blue and green by english researchers they cant spot the difference.

objective reality bent by their minds.

they live in a different type of world than we do, they see different things.

how deep, how far can this go? how far has this already gone?

the mental shapes our perception of reality, first through feelings and over time through actually seeing the material world different.

can you independently think? what even is that?

you use words without or incorrectly defining them, trapped by your language.

you use it to express what you call independent thought, what is actually the thought that the role you’re playing is able to think within its frame.
